Aito Opens Pre-Sales for Updated M8 with Level 3-Ready Architecture
Aito will open pre-sales for the updated M8 on 30 September 2026. The refreshed model features Level 3-ready autonomous driving architecture, with all variants equipped with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 system. The all-electric version delivers a range of up to 830 kilometres.
Aito announced on 27 September 2026 that it will open pre-sales for the updated M8 the following day. The refresh marks a significant evolution for the SUV, developed jointly by Seres and Huawei under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) framework.
The updated version integrates architecture specifically designed to support Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities across all variants, alongside Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 system and a next-generation omnidirectional sensor-fusion platform. The vehicle maintains 5-seat and 6-seat configurations while preserving exterior dimensions: 5,190 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, 1,795 mm in height and a 3,105 mm wheelbase.
The refresh offers extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options with updated specifications. The EREV variant features a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with dual motors, delivering maximum engine output of 118 kW, with front and rear motors producing peak outputs of 170 kW and 227 kW respectively. Battery capacities measure 75.408 kWh and 56.036 kWh, providing pure-electric ranges reaching 365 kilometres.
The BEV variant employs front and rear motors generating 160 kW and 227 kW peak outputs, paired with battery capacities of 120.04 kWh and 97.644 kWh, achieving a maximum range of 830 kilometres. Since its initial launch in April 2025, cumulative M8 deliveries have surpassed 180,000 units as of 6 August 2026.
