Avatr Reveals Exterior Design of Flagship T09 Six-Seat SUV

Avatr, backed by Changan Automobile, Huawei and CATL, confirmed its T09 flagship sport utility vehicle in China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology new model catalog on 9 September 2026. The SUV measures 5,285 mm in length, 2,025 mm in width, 1,810–1,820 mm in height and features a 3,150 mm wheelbase with a six-seat interior configuration.

Two plug-in hybrid powertrain variants are offered. The higher-specification version pairs a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 155 kilowatts with a distributed electric drive system comprising three motors: a front motor delivering 180 kilowatts and two rear motors each producing 225 kilowatts. The alternative configuration combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine generating 110 kilowatts with two electric motors rated at 180 kilowatts and 310 kilowatts respectively.

Both versions employ ternary lithium batteries supplied by a CATL subsidiary in Sichuan province. The vehicle carries a 71.24-kWh battery pack providing an electric range of 300–330 kilometers, with a maximum speed of 220 kilometers per hour. The T09 incorporates Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 autonomous driving system utilising four LiDAR sensors. Company officials have indicated the vehicle is expected to launch by year-end 2026.
